CASE STUDY: Moving Home At A Hectic Time

Moving home is hectic. Often it feels like nothing is happening for a long time and then suddenly everything is happening all at once. It can feel like there is not enough time to get everything done. We are here to help make your move as stress-free as it can be. Want to know how? Just read the case study below.

A widow needed to move from a three storey four-bedroom property to a three bedroom bungalow. Her adult children lived in the South of England. My client and her husband had been academics, so there was a substantial library. The client had already exchanged legal contracts; completion was in six weeks’ time.

I met with the client who was finding the experience emotional for she had lived at the property for nearly forty years and was daunted with what needed doing and the time limit.

Having identified that the library was important to the client, I suggested they be categorised, boxed and placed into storage for a minimum of six months, which my client agreed.

Over the next four weeks, my client and I sorted through various belongings, identifying anything that her adult children or family members would like to have, items for charity, recycling, or general disposal.

Everything was complete one week before the completion date, providing the client with some breathing space.
